A&H Lithoprint Asks Nate Marks to Write About Color Management.
Chicago, IL. Nate Marks, President of DesignMarks.biz, was recently asked to be a guest writer for A&H Lithoprint's electronic newsletter Blue Dot Connections: a monthly e-newsletter containing a collection of
information and tips on design, printing, and marketing strategies. A&H Lithoprint is a full service, women-owned, commercial printing company (established in 1953) located in Broadview, a suburb of Chicago. The company has steadily expanded from a two-color print shop into a full-service graphic arts and six-color print.
Nate's focus was on Color Management, "If you ask five people what color management is you will probably get five different answers. Designers, photographers, printers, and computer technicians all seem to approach this subject from different perspectives - and those perspectives relate to how each one of them interfaces with the subject.
Today with digital applications it should be simpler, but now a days there are many more people, devices, and technologies between the client and the finished piece. And, so many more ways to deliver that piece: paints; inks; electronic; web (printed and/or internet); matte, semi-matte, or gloss paper stocks; video; scanners; photography (digital and film); computer screens; televisions, etc. We are all looking for predictability and consistency when we attempt to reproduce an image in color. The goal of using color management techniques is to obtain a good color match across all color devices."
